Visit to The Gambia - Day Four
Mrs Carr and Miss Reece received a wonderful welcome from the children at Jenoi Primary School this morning. Songs of welcome and togetherness, sang in the local language of Mandinka. The Head Girl read a speech, which included the following words.
“Thank you for touching our hearts with your kindness. They add a spark of joy to the lives they touch and leave a lasting impression on us forever”.
The feeling is reciprocal. Following this speech, alongside the singing and dancing, the UK team were gifted with a bowl of rice and vegetables as a thank you from the whole community.
