Four go to Ufton - Part Two!

There was more water today - this time on the open seas!

Year Four (or should that be Year Thor?) have set sail for the second day of their Ufton Court adventure! The day started with a session in Ufton's Viking longship. We learnt about why boats were so crucial to the Vikings' successes, from raiding foreign lands to using, trading and making money from the spoils back at home. From Bretland to Vindland, our intrepid raiders returned with honey, wood, wine and precious metals. We've also learnt lots of Viking skills to use at home, including fence-making, firelighting and wood-sharpening.

The afternoon saw bow-making and test firing, before we finished the day with an epic costumed feast. Cutlery? Who needs cutlery?!

We've got one final adventure tomorrow and we can't wait to get to sleep (the teachers may have written that bit!) so we can wake up ready for more fun!
