Welcome to our Latest News page - a place for you to see how we are learning and living 'Life in all its Fullness' at St. Peter’s Church of England Junior School.
We hope you enjoy our slideshow of classroom display photos at St. Peter’s Church of England Junior School, capturing our celebration of children’s work and wonderings.
Today marks Peace Day and to celebrate this important day in school, each class participated in a peace themed story and reflection. Every classroom has their own Reflection Area, accompanied by their own Reflective Journal. Our journals are a beautiful showcase of the children’s thoughtful responses and reflective outcomes.
This week in our year group assemblies, the children have been reflecting on the theme ‘Count your Blessings’. Together, we have reflected on all the good, positive and happy things in our lives – taking time to think about even the smallest of things we can give thanks for. Each month, we will continue to send home a copy of the ‘Action for Happiness’ calendar, which can be used at home to support positive thinking. You might even like to make a ‘Happy Jar’ together as a family.

This afternoon, our Year 3 children joined a special welcome service led by our Church Youth Minister. Each child was presented with a special keepsake Bible, to stay with the children all through their journey at St. Peter’s Church of England Junior School and beyond. Together, the children reflected on our school values and the personal contributions each of them can make to their class and our wider school community. A warm welcome to all our Year 3 children and parents.
Introducing our half term curriculum projects, underpinned by our vision ‘Life in all its Fullness’. This term we have introduced enquiry questions, creating links and threads between the subjects – enabling children to answer their big question ‘in all its fullness’. Each of our projects will be launched by a hook event to ignite children’s curiosity and finish with a celebration of ‘beautiful learning’. Please visit our curriculum page for more information.
This morning, our Year 5 children launched into their space themed project with a Science Dome and space station experience! This term, the children will be learning about Mars Curiosity, while also considering ‘Is it ever right to explore a place where no human has ever been?’ as part of their wider space themed project. There was a buzz of excitement among our Year 5 children today at the ‘lift-off’ of their first curriculum project.
Introducing our beautiful new tree, painted in our reception area as a reflection of our school vision ‘Life in all its Fullness’, lovingly painted by Emily Kelly Designs, one of our talented school mums. The design is partly inspired by the ancient tree out on our school field, which must have been with our beautiful school building ‘in all its fullness’. A warm welcome back to the Autumn Term and a new school year.
