Student Leadership

Student Leadership at St Peter’s

At St. Peter's Church of England Junior School, we strive to create opportunities for our children to learn and live 'Life in all its Fullness' with pupil voice and student leadership at the heart.

As members of St. Peter’s School, we take great inspiration from 1 Peter 4:10 ‘Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others’.

Underpinned by our vision and values and, inspired by the global goals, our student leadership roles include:

  • ECO Council
  • School Council
  • House Captains
  • Play Leaders
  • Service Leaders
  • Student Librarians
  • Fundraisers and Volunteers
  • Opportunities to represent our school

Lunch in our Community

A real pleasure to join our church community for a shared lunch. Our children were described as beautifully polite, friendly and joyful as they led a table conversation with their table of adults. A lovely example of our vision and values in action.

Supporting our Local Community

As part of their RE learning, our Year 4 children collected and donated bicycles in support of the bikestart project at The Source Young People’s Charity in Aldershot. We are proud to be a school that places the needs of our community at the heart of our curriculum.

Community Leaders

Introducing our beautiful field of poppy pebbles, bringing us together as a school, church and wider community in remembrance of others. Thank you to our children for their thoughtful designs and for inspiring our wider community to join in.

Children in Need

The vision of Children in Need is that ‘Together We Can Change Lives’. Together, our children created the mascot for Children in Need, Pudsey Bear, out of all their loose change! Thank you especially to our Year 5 children for helping to shape the coin mural and thank you to all children for their donations - we're delighted to announce that £170.78 was raised through their efforts.

A joy to be a part of the community cafe at St Peter’s Church. As part of the service, our Year 4 children read out their own prayers, taking inspiration from The Lord’s Prayer.

Christmas Gift Bags

Christmas bags, made with love by our children for local, elderly residents in isolation. Inspired by their Christmas units in RE, Year 3 illustrated the bags, Year 4 made the cards, Year 5 created lanterns and Year 6 decorated uplifting verses. We are so proud of our children’s thoughtful contributions.

Feedback from our local residents

What a wonderful surprise to be given a Christmas goodie bag with such lovely handmade gifts. I was so thrilled and very touched by your kindness – a huge thank you”.

“Many thanks for the beautiful cards and presents you gave us to celebrate Christmas. It was very thoughtful of you”.

Red Nose Day

Thank you for all the donations and jokes that were shared today in our mission to ‘do something funny for money’. There was joy and laughter at the gate this morning, including a specially made trick box that made us all scream and an impressive joke written especially for Humphrey, our school dog.

What do you get if your cross a plane, a Lamborghini and Humphrey? A flying car-pet!

The Larder Foodbank

In their RE lessons, Year 4 have been learning about the local work and impact of The Larder Foodbank. Thank you for all the donations that have been brought into school, testament to the children’s powerful letter writing and their clear empathy for those in a time of need.

Easter Gift Bags

Every child has created a special Easter gift for local, elderly residents. The beautiful cards were made by Year 3 and the colourful baskets were created by Year 4. The vibrant flowers were crafted in Year 5 and the palm crosses, with thoughtful verses, were made by Year 6.

Afternoon Tea

A joy to welcome the ‘meet and eat’ group from St. Peter’s Church for an Easter afternoon tea. Our school choir performed three songs and distributed Easter gifts- lovingly made by every child in the school. A very special afternoon, which brought ‘life in all fullness’ to all.
