Today marks 200 years since Florence Nightingale was born. Regarded as the Mother of Nursing, Florence Nightingale is also known as the ‘Lady with the Lamp’.
In the Bible, Jesus tells us: ‘Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven’ (Matthew 5: 15-16).
We invite you to create a jar candle holder and consider: what good deeds could you do that might ‘shine’ like a light in the darkness for others to see?
