  • World Book Day

    One week to go until World Book Day! Designated by UNESCO as a worldwide celebration of books and reading, World Book Day is marked in over 100 countries around the globe. The mission of World Book Day is to promote reading for pleasure. We look forward to a day of dressing-up and book themed talks and activities! In the meantime, here’s a reminder of our recommended reading lists.
  • The Lost Words

    This picture is just one example of the beautiful work and learning that has been completed by our children at home and in school. A collection of beautifully illustrated poems written and crafted by our Year 6 children, proudly on display in our library. Inspired by the beautiful book ‘The Lost Words’, the children’s art and writing reflects the natural world. 
  • Season of Lent

    Welcome back to the second half of the spring term. This half term, we are proud to be participating in the Guildford Diocese Lent Calendar of Kindness. Each day includes a Bible story, reflection and a kindness challenge - all encouraging us to be ‘agents of change’.

  • Can a small change make a big difference?

    This half term, Year 6 have been learning about the life and work of Charles Darwin, resulting in some impressive biographies as part of their project ‘Can a small change make a big difference’. Inspired by ‘The Lost Words’, the children have also created some stunning art work and poetry based on the natural world. Please visit their class page for more photos.

  • Do bridges divide or develop communities?

    This half term, Year 5 have been learning about the life and work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel,  while also considering: ‘Do Bridges Divide or Develop Communities’. From planning to programming, the children have developed the skills to build their own bridges - please visit their class page for more photos of their exciting journey. 

  • What makes someone a great person?

    This half term, Year 4 have embarked on a Saxon voyage, exploring ‘What makes someone a Great person’ as part of their study of King Alfred the Great. We have been particularly impressed with the project work that has been sent into school – a celebration of family names and ‘great’ people who are of inspiration to the children.
  • How did life change from Stone Age to the Iron Age?

    This half term, Year 3 have been immersed in the history of the Stone Age - now at the halfway point of their project: ‘How did life change from the Stone Age to the Iron Age’. Through online and in school learning, Year 3 have been united in their enjoyment of the book ‘Stone Age Boy’, growing as historians, artists and authors.
  • Wild Nature Art Competition

    We have been delighted with our children’s entries in the Rotary Club Young Artist Competition, with the theme of Wild Nature. We have been impressed with the range of techniques and tools used by the children - and look forward to following the outcomes of this competition! 
  • Year 4 Saxon Project

    Inspired by King Alfred the Great, Year 4 have been making Saxon shields and writing letters as part of their project ‘What makes someone a great person’.
