  • St Peter and our Value of Celebration

    Thu 30 Apr 2020

Join us for our next Bible Story: ‘Jesus and Peter walk on water’, found in Matthew 14:22-33.  Think about our Value of Celebration and the message of this story.  What inspiration can we take from this story to help us achieve and celebrate our goals?  What advice do you think Peter would give to us based on this story and our Value of Celebration? We invite you to draw/decorate a medal and add your reflections.

  • Our School Grounds

    Mon 27 Apr 2020

Our beautiful school grounds and a psalm to help us celebrate:

    Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;

let the sea resound, and all that is in it.

     Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them;

let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.

    (Psalm 96:11-12)

  • A Rainbow Prayer

    Fri 24 Apr 2020

Join us as we think about the symbol of a rainbow – a symbol of hope and promise.  A reminder that ‘sunshine will return after the rain’.  In recent times, the rainbow has become a symbol of togetherness all over the world and we know lots of you have created beautiful rainbows on display at home.  We can also use the colours of the rainbow to help us think about and pray for others:

Red is the colour of bravery: pray for or think about those people who are having to be brave at the moment

Orange is the colour of waiting: pray or think about having to be patient and wait for things to get back to normal

Yellow is the colour of sunshine: be thankful for some good things in your life

Green is the colour of growth: pray or think about the people who are growing and producing our food

Blue is a peaceful colour: pray for or think about people who are anxious at this time, that they would find peace

Indigo is a sad colour: pray for or think about those who are sad or lonely

Violet is a royal colour, the colour of leaders: pray for or think about the people in our government, that they will make wise decisions

  • St. Peter

    Wed 22 Apr 2020

Our school is named after Peter, one of Jesus’s disciples. Each week, we will be sharing a Bible story about the life and work of St. Peter, along with a reflective activity for you to complete at home.  Our first story 'Jesus calls Peter' can be found in Luke 5:1-11 or you can watch a video version here: https://youtu.be/EhIwTU9RbxY

In this story, Jesus said to Peter, “From now on you will be fishermen for men” and when the men brought their boats to the shore, they left everything and followed Jesus.  Taking inspiration from this story, we invite you to draw a boat and decorate it with your thoughts and reflections with links to our vision and values.

  • Welcome to the Summer Term

    Mon 20 Apr 2020

Welcome to the Summer Term – with an exciting range of home learning adventures in store for you.  While we can’t be altogether at this time, we wanted to share some photos of our beautiful school grounds, where the bluebells are in full spring, and join together in the words of our school prayer.

    Dear God,

This is our school, let peace dwell here,

Let the rooms be filled with happiness,

    Let love abide here,

    Love of one another,

    Love of mankind,

Love of life itself and love of God.

Let us remember that as many hands build a house

So many hearts make a school.

    Amen

Introducing the Mother’s Club of Sitahuma School in The Gambia, West Africa, and their soap making project!  A sustainable business that empowers women in rural villages, while also raising money for the school and local community.  Inspired by this project, we challenge you to get mixing, making, moulding and baking!  The process of making homemade soap is relatively easy but it does involve some rather strong ingredients!  As an alternative, we have a family-friendly ‘make your own bath bomb’ recipe that you might like to follow:  https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/howto/guide/how-make-bath-bomb

  • Easter Holiday Challenge Seven

    Tue 14 Apr 2020

How would you represent our school community in a mural? Inspired by the beautiful mural at Kaira Konko Scout Centre in The Gambia, West Africa, we invite you to create your own mural design.  The mural pictured below was painted by Gambian artist, Njogu Touray, as a special gift to the Kaira Konko community.  The painting captures the heart and soul of Kaira Konko: education, scouting; friendship and community.  Can you notice the special way ‘Scout’ is painted and represented within the design?  What images would you use to represent our community in a mural?  For more information, visit @Kaira Konko.
