    Every class enjoyed a fun-filled circus skills workshop today, demonstrating skills of perseverance while having the best of times! Booked to support our children’s well being, the smiles and concentration in the photos says it all!

    Humphrey, our school dog, has been exploring our classrooms and joining in with the children’s curriculum learning and adventures. He has been impressed with his findings! 🐾

  • Character Education

    Mon 24 May 2021

    Based on parent, staff, governor and church group feedback, the following Character Virtues have been established for our school community: Compassion, Courage, Community, Curiosity, Gratitude, Motivation, Perseverance and Reflection. Our House Captains have been researching motivational quotes to help underpin each character virtue and these will be voted on by all children. As a next step, we will design a special Character Education Journal as way of promoting and celebrating achievements beyond that of academic success.

  • Reading for Pleasure

    ‘Reading is to the mind what exercise is to the body’. Our school librarian, Mrs Tomkins, has transformed our library, helping to promote reading for pleasure and engage children with their book choices. Our library features themed areas, staff suggestions and year group recommendations – a place to be inspired! The children have enjoyed their fortnightly visits to the library and the display of books that have been on offer to them. 

      

  • Calshot Activities Centre

  • Mental Health Week

    We are so fortunate to have such beautiful grounds for outdoor learning, fun and adventure! Lovely to see so many children outdoors this week and to be reminded of the amazing benefits that nature brings for our wellbeing.

  • Prom Praise for Schools

    Year 5 have been learning a special song as part of a collaborative music project featuring children from Church of England schools. Today saw the professional recording of this performance — such a memorable experience for all the children. We were delighted with the feedback from Pete Desmond on behalf of Prom Praise for Schools.

     

    “I had a great time. The school is lovely and the children were delightful. They participated very enthusiastically and sang really well. I was particularly impressed by the caring atmosphere in the school, in which every child is clearly valued and encouraged to do their best.”
