Welcome to our Latest News page - a place for you to see how we are learning and living 'Life in all its Fullness' at St. Peter’s Church of England Junior School.
Our children have enjoyed a peaceful, happy reflection outside in the sunshine this week - participating in an Easter Outside Prayer Space. Thank you to St. Peter’s Church for all their help with this event. This outside event enabled the children to reflect on the Easter story, making links to their own lives whole considering themes of love, hope, forgiveness and helping others through prayer, reflection and craft.
We are proud to share Ofsted’s findings from our remote monitoring inspection - please visit the Ofsted page of our website for further details.
“Leaders have been thoughtful and reflective about how they can adapt the curriculum effectively for remote education. Teachers have creatively adapted activities and use a wide variety of digital resources very well. They have carefully planned interesting activities, for example, virtual tours of places of interest and interviews with visitors. As a result, pupils are highly engaged in their remote learning and parents appreciate the hard work of staff” (Ofsted Monitoring Inspection, March 2021).
In their RE lessons, Year 4 have been learning about the local work and impact of The Larder Foodbank. Thank you for all the donations that have been brought into school, testament to the children’s powerful letter writing and their clear empathy for those in a time of need. Please visit the Year 4 class page for copies of their letters.
Our children have created some colourful decorations, displayed around their classrooms, which capture their thoughtful responses in relation to self-belief, hope, gratitude and connectedness. Designed by the children’s mental health charity, Place 2 Be, these lessons have been designed to support community recovery and promote good wellbeing.
